Flooding in Chiang Mai

It rained so hard last night and see what we got up this morning to. It was somewhat expected but we never knew when it's actually going to come. The houses by the river banks are flooded badly, a lot of people have to be evacuated including our pastor's family. The staff helped moved their stuff to the higher place and right before they were evacuated themselves, the water went in to their house. Now they are staying at a guesthouse nearby. No major damage, but a lot shops and stores are closed down by the river area. 

Oak (the pastor's son) said that the last time they've had this was in 2006. And it was so bad and they are hoping that this year doesn't get as bad as that year. 

So please pray for the city right now. Not just Chiang Mai, but there are other 12 provinces of Thailand that are having this flooding issue. It's been going on for the past month or so. But it just got to Chiang Mai today. 

The house we stayed in suppose to get flooded today as well, but we haven't seen anything. So praise God, and continue to pray that our house won't get it. 

These are some of the pictures of the flood around the city, we used to live by that river. If we were to live there now, we probably have already been evacuated. So praise the Lord for the house that doesn't flood.

My New House

Like I said in my previous blog, that I have moved in to my new house with my new house mates: Jasmine and Amy. There is a lot of things we have to do for that house, but it came with a furniture and reasonable price. We were really happy to have the deal with that house because of the location, that it is near to the city, a walk to the students houses and a walk to the church I am working with. Leaving Thailand

Greetings! In January 2014 I will be ending my term as a missionary in Thailand and will be going home to Jakarta, Indonesia . The ministry that I work with in Chiang Mai is bearing a lot of fruits and things are going really well, but I feel like Indonesia is where the Lord is taking me for this next season. Jakarta, Indonesia, my home, I never thought that God will ever call me back home. When I give my life to serve in the mission field 7 years ago, I never thought that this will happen. But God really is calling me to go back home . And it was as clear as it can be to me. The ministry that I am doing with the youths here are flourishing, the Lord have blessed us so much this past two years, we were able to see growth, new believers and new thing in the Thai churches. Valentine's Day

Oh my... it's been ages since I updated this blog. I am terribly sorry. Ever since I got back to Jakarta, everything just kind of go in super fast pace. Just like the city. For almost 3 years I lived in Chiang Mai where everything is kind of slow and feels laid back, getting back in the mega city has not been easy at all.
